Fencing Programs for Schools

Valour Fencing Club offers school-based fencing programs that introduce students to Olympic fencing in a safe, structured, and high-energy format.

Programs can be delivered during Physical & Health Education (PHE/PE) or as an after-school activity, and are adapted to the school’s schedule, age group, and experience level.

Students learn the fundamentals of movement, coordination, and safe sport conduct while building confidence, focus, and athletic skill.

Why Schools Choose Fencing

Fencing is a unique activity that supports:

  • Coordination and agility (footwork, balance, reaction time)

  • Focus and self-control (timing, discipline, decision-making)

  • Confidence and resilience (learning new skills and improving quickly)

  • Respect and sportsmanship (clear rules, structured conduct)

It’s a great fit for schools that want a fresh option beyond traditional team sports.

What the Program Includes

Valour’s school fencing programs typically include:

  • An age-appropriate introduction to Olympic fencing

  • Fundamental footwork and movement

  • Basic attacks, defence, and distance control

  • Skill-building drills and structured partner work

  • Supervised, controlled fencing exercises when students are ready

Programs can be delivered as a short series or an ongoing activity depending on the school’s goals.

Equipment & Safety

Valour can provide the necessary equipment so schools don’t need to purchase gear up front. Sessions are taught with clear safety standards and structured progression. Students learn proper conduct, spacing, and control before advancing to more dynamic fencing activities.

  • Elementary, middle, or secondary schools

  • PE/PHE curriculum support
